Hi All,
New to Vonage, so far pretty good. Slight noise on the line, but seems to be consistent with what I've read on the forums about the Linksys unit.
I've read tons on the alarm system dilemma (my only real issue) and I think I've tried nearly everything. I told Vonage I have an ADT system and they adjusted the packets for me. Still no good.
I've investigated the wiring, and it seems that the installer spliced into the telephone line internally, but instead of connecting red-green, red-green, one green is connected to a black. (I'm working from memory here -- need to verify, but it is definitely connected to the 2nd pair).
So now I'm concerned that if it is "using" the second pair to complete a circuit, my disconnecting from D-MARC would eliminate the possibility of a call altogether. Has anyone seen a similar wiring -- I'm pretty confused right now if it's something I can make work, or just get a landline dedicated to the ADT system
Newbie really needs some advice.... Thanks! |
