Post subject: UK to USA calls free but is my friend in the USA charged?
Hi,
All my calls to the USA either mobile or landline from the UK are free. I call my friend in Miami regularly but we would both like to know if he is charged for receiving my calls.
I suppose it is like if I were to visit the USA on holiday then I would be charged to receive any calls to my mobile phone from the UK.
My friends is a resident of Miami and his mobile and landline are on American networks.
Any advice gratefully appreciated.

You friend should receive no charges. The only "charges" is the use of his minutes on his cell phone.

The calling party is the one charged for the call and not the called party unless if the calling party is making a collect call.
