Have a linksys router, Road Runner modem. Tried running the test but got an error. Periodically, while making a call at first the other person can't hear us, then the line drops. Internet connection is also lost. I have to reboot the modem by power cycling it. Then everything works again. I've had RR out and they replaced the modem and the line out to the street. Everything work3ed for awhile then it started again. Any ideas? |

First...I highly doubt it would be the Vonage unit...but it could be, so ask the customer service. I'm betting they will send you a new one.
Second, are you sure your Ethernet and phone cables are securely plugged in? I would change both.
Third, Routers do go bad and they do it very quickly.
All you can do is work thru this one step at a time.

I would recommend taking the Vonage device out of the network for 2 or 3 days and see if the problem is still present. You can forward your calls for the time being. Also, if you only experiencing this problem when attempting to make phone calls and browse the web at the same time, it could be a result of having low bandwidth.
