I am delighted to see that the range of UK numbers on offer has increased - last time I looked there were only London numbers, but now there are a range of UK geographics to choose from. The problem is, I plumped for a London number when I initially set up my adapter as there was no other choice, but I really could do with a slightly more local number.
As the Linksys adapter is a two line device, I have been considering setting up the second line (with a more local number) to run in parallel with my existing London number.
The procedure and costs for doing this are not totally clear. After playing around with the web based front end I have arrived at a screen which quotes costs for setting up a second geographic number as follows:
Summary for an Additional Phone Number. Phone Number £0.00 Call Diversion £0.00 Directory Enquiries £0.00 Activation Fee £16.99 International Plan £0.00 Mobile/Special Number Plan £0.00 Residential Unlimited - Additional Line (Jan 29 - Feb 3) £1.94 Voice mail £0.00 Total Amount (Including VAT *) £18.93 *VAT (17.5%) £2.82
I take this to show that in order to get Line 2 working, I have to pay a £16.99 one off fee then a second £9.99 recurring rental for a 'Residential Unlimited' account.
This appears a wee bit on the expensive side to me - is this correct or have I misunderstood the proposition here?
If this is the case, it is probably just as cost effective to order a complete new Linksys box rather than take out a Line 2! |

if you sign up for a london number for example and your local dialling code is not available, Vonage will transfer your number to a local one at no cost.
you need to ring customer service and tell them that the local code was not available when you subscribed but that you would like to transfer the number you have to that new one.
should be relatively straightforward. |
