Hello - I have been using Vonage for a week and it's great. I am having one problem though. When I call my cell phone from my Vonage number the phone will ring 4 times then pause and then ring 4 more times like a new call is coming in, in fact the phone says I missed 2 calls. This will happen two or three times (total of 8 or 12 rings to voicemail) before I actually get switched over. I have tested this on friends cell phones that use T-mobile and the same thing happens when I call them. I tried dialing using the area code to my cell just as a test and still the same problem. I have not experienced this with calls to Verizon or land lines. Seems to only happen when I call T-mobile cell numbers. This has never happened to me with my cell phone before. I did try a work around as a test also. I used my AT&T calling card with my Vonage account to call my cell. It worked fine, picked up on the 6th ring as it was supposed to. Seems like it is a Vonage problem. Has anyone else experienced this and any ideas how I can get it fixed. Thanks. |

Can't help you with T-Mobile, but I tried calling my Cingular cell phone (also GSM like TMO) and everything worked fine.
Hope you figure this out. I expect it's a TMO problem rather than Vonage.

Thanks for the response about Cingular. I don't think it is a T-mobile issue. Never had this problem before with calls getting to my cell phone. |

Totally impressed with the service, but all the poor souls that I call from Vonage to T Mobile are showing my number and not the usual caller Id info such as name, etc... Is this an issue? |

I also have a T-Mobile Blackberry (in addition to my Cingular cell phone). I had forgotten I could call it, because I never use it for voice service.
Anyway, I just called my TMO Blackberry from my Vonage number and the call went through immediately and rang several times. The screen showed my Vonage number as the caller ID. I hung up without answering, since I don't pay for a voice plan and did not want to pay $.20 per minute.
So no problem with TMO from Vonage for me.
Hope you find a solution.

I see that many here don't have this problem. Does anyone have any idea what might cause it and what I can do to fix it. Since it happens with my friends phones that are on T-mobile and they have never experienced it except when I call from Vonage I still think there is some kind of problem with Vonage. |

With TMO...to have the name appear with the number it must be in your contact list on your cell phone. I have not gotten my phone adaptor yet from Vonage...but I have all calls forwarded to my TMO cell so that way I never miss a call. I will test your issue when I get mine set up. When I call a TMO cell I use my TMO cell as TMO to TMO is FREE.
