I occasionally have problems with my Verizon cell phone. I have forwarding setup to ring my cell and house phone at the same time. Sometimes I will get a call and my house phone says it was one call but my cell will say that I missed 2 or even 6 calls. It doesn't happen all that often though. Most of the time things work as expected. --Larkin |

That's interesting Larkin. Do you only have the problem with your Verizon phone when you are receiving calls from Vonage or is it a common problem? |

I have only seen this multiple call problem happen when my Vonage number rings my cell phone as part of call forwarding setup. I have never tried to call my cell phone directly. I have called many other verizon cell phones without incident but this problem doesn't happen to me very often and I wouldn't normally notice it and the people I call might not notice it either. I'm encountering a problem which might be related that I've posed another topic on. Sometimes my house phone and cell phone will ring exactly once then my cell v-mail will take the call. This doesn't happen very often either. It is starting to sound to me like there is something not quite right with the way Vonage is interfacing to some cell carriers. --Larkin |

Very curious. I have a T-Mobile Motorola V300 and have never experienced difficulties such as you describe. Could this be a regional phenomenon? The only complaint I have against T-Mobile is a lack of coverage.

TMO had nationwide plan so you are covered all over. That is what we have since they do not have towers in NC. |

exact same problem here... Calls placed on my Vonage line work great except to T-mobile phones. the call will ring as usual and just at the point that it would normally go to voicemail, it goes silent. i have "tested" this with 3 different T-mobile lines (i use the word tested loosely because i wouldn't call it testing if everyone i know has T-mobile and i'm just simply trying to leave them a voicemail) |

I have been having the same problem. I have the problem when calling several different phone numbers, but the symptoms are EXACTLY as the original post in this thread described.
I called Vonage and opened a ticket, but they couldn't duplicate the problem. I work for a cellular company, I do test calls and translations for a living; I know that if the problem isn't duplicated, it's very difficult to track it down.
I'm surprised more people don't seem to be having the problem. My softphone, and my RTP300 lines are both having the problem. I have the problem when calling CERTAIN Cingular subscribers, certain Tmo subscribers, and even one landline here in town. Weird stuff.
The problem isn't perfectly consistent in my case, occasionally the call eventually makes its way to voicemail, but usually it just rings a number of times, connects to silence, then the call releases after about 30 seconds. Weird.
Thanks,
Russ |

Last week we had a similar incident with a Cingular phone in Atlanta. We tried it from 3 different Vonage lines, and after the phone rang several times it just went silent. We were never transferred to voice mail. We then tried it with a regular BellSouth line, and the call went through correctly. I reported it to Vonage, but we never heard back. My daughter said she had had similar problems in the past. |
