Hello,
My dlink router just died,i got this netgear router WGR614V7 from a friend. With Dlink router my network was setup this way Att Modem >> Dlink router >> Vonage vdv device and it worked great.
when i setup my network with Netgear router WGR614v7, like this ATT modem >> WGR614V7 router >> Vonage VDV21, Vonage doesn't connect , it gives error code 001, which has make cables are properly secure but everything is hooked the same way as before. I had call Vonage support 5 times, they can't figure it out why and they told me the only way it would work is ATT modem >> VDV21 >> Netgear router. one of the tech supporter helped setup advance setting on Vonage device, which just enable the DMZ settings. So all the traffic would go to the router, Because i complained that internet was slow when VDV21 is the middle of modem and router.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem ?? Second question is that, lets say i keep the setup: att modem >> Vdv21 >> router. Can i still port forward stuff, mainly my xbox 360 ports ??
I have ATT DSL MODEM 2210, Vonage device is vdv21 and Netgear router WGR614V7. DSL 3.0 mbs and i have set a static ip for my xbox 360.
Any help is greatly appreciated and thank you for reading a long post. |
