Well, in a perfect world, this function allows business customers to provide quality customer service. Lets say you are an outbound calling center, contacting customers for, say, BankAmerica about their overdue mortgages. Rather than have the CID show "Joe's Call Center", they can adjust it such that the CID and number lead back to BankAmerica's mortage call center.
And allowing the call center to set the values, rather than have to deal with the red tape of their provider, allows them to switch back and forth amongst their business plans at will... from 12 to 1pm, its BankAmerica... then from 2 to 4 its some other business that needs to harrass some people for their money.
Of course, you get the good with the bad. |
