Post subject: Connection to wireless computer
I was told I could connect the
Vonage
phone adapter direclty to my wireless laptop, and in fact one of the connection options in the back is "connect to your PC or Router only". I tried this but keep getting a 001 error code the the blue wire plug is not secure, which it absolutly is. Can someone please tell me what the problem is and the solution? I would really apprecioate it.

You need an internet source. Error code 001 means the device cannot detect an internet connection. If your laptop is getting its connection wirelessly (i.e. a USB device), it won't work with
Vonage
. The device requires it be connected a DSL, Cable or FIOS device.

Make sure you have (internet connection sharing-enabled), better known as (ICS).If you are using your laptop as the source of the internet connction. this should help you get rid of the 001.,but be aware if you have low upload speed you're likely to encounter some audio chopp.
