From what I can see, there are two separate issues here, that need to be dealt with differently
Firstly, there is the issue of the advertising of "unlimited" service. This is an *advertising* issue. Stating "unlimited" service, then placing a limit of any sort (even if it is 3000 minutes) is a contradiction, and thus, if it could be considered false advertising, it should be dealt with by the relevant advertising authority (eg the Advertising Standards Authority in the UK; the Competition Bureau in Canada; the FTC in the US, etc).
Secondly, there is the issue of whether 3000 minutes would be considered "reasonable" monthly usage. This is a totally different *contract* issue. The 3000-minute limit is in a footnote to the T&C, so I cannot say for certain what the contractual implications are (as this may differ in different areas). Anyone wanting to contest that is best off seeking legal advice. The actual document itself references "normal residential usage"; this is (IMHO) in place to ban cold-calling cold-faxing, etc.
I hope I'm making sense here... IANAL, I just use the service. |

I'm kinda with the majority here.
Do your research before you shop. I use Vonage (4 lines) for my business here, and we use them for back lines, not for my main business. I run my thousands of minutes through Voip providers other than Vonage.
I went with the best value, and did my research. I am getting what I paid for. If you don't like what you bought, buy something else. This isn't a socialist state where you get what we offer...
Don't like the limitation (or lack there of) of word usage for advertisers? Call the FTC. |

Truthis, have you read the contract before purchasing the package. It's all written in the contract. I am own Voip blogs and i know what actually unlimited means, it's just like a package. In this much amount you will get unlimited call to so and so destinations but you should not exceed the limit. 3000 minutes is plenty for most of the users but i don't know about you. I know vongae from long time, it is one of the best Voip operator, so it can't cheat his consumers because customer satisfaction vonage's first priority. Before purchasing any packages read the contract properly, if satisfied then only go for it otherwise leave it. |

You can go over those minutes and not get charged for them. So tech. they are not false advertising, now what they are trying to say is if you are using 3000 minutes or above the limit they have given you over and over every single month; They will change your plan to more of a commerical plan. That is because they see you using it as a commercial type plan, not residential usage. |

So it is unlimited because you don't get charged after you use those 3000 minutes. Its only if you go over those minutes every single month over and over and over. And to Vonage that means you are using it as non-residential usage. |
