In todays USA Today newspaper, there is a half page article about Voip services. The first half of the article is about Vonage, and mentions a feature that I didn't know we had! I never use call forwarding, so I never clicked in to that menu on the features page. There is a sub feature called Simulring that will ring both your house phone and another phone at the same time. You can set it up so it will ring your cell phone, in case you are outside or go on a trip.

The article is online here is you wish to read it!

I use Call Forwarding more than any other feature, excepting, of course Caller ID. Whenever, I leave the house, I turn on the cell phone and Call Forwarding. No matter where I am, I never miss a call. However, I'd still like to see the introduction of call rejection for those few salesman that I just can't shake! At any rate, any help us retire old gesers can get is appreciated.

The one feature that is now on top of my "wishlist" is caller intercept for blocked numbers. I just called someone who had this and it made me state my name before allowing the call through (because I turned on caller ID blocking for this particular call). GOTTA HAVE IT! Smile

When you use this feature take notice if you try to call home from the phone that is set up you will end up in your cell phones voice mail. This is the only drawback I have found, if I forget to turn it off, go out and then want to call my wife at home and ask a question, I can't. Just a warning.

Just set it (Vonage) to ring longer before it rolls over to the cell phone.

I think he's referring to simultaneous ring, not call forwarding. Simultaneous ring doesn't roll over to the designated phone after "X" seconds... it rings at the same time. Hence, if it's set to simultaneous ring your cell phone and you call home from your cell you'll get your cell phone voice mail.

Still... it's a minor inconvenience. I really like simultaneous ring because I don't have to give out my cell phone number. Instead, I just give out my Vonage number and I can catch it immediately on my cell when I'm away.
