I was a Vonage customer for 5 years. During those 5 years I called Vonage 3-4 times for changes in my account. Everytime, the agent could not understand what I wanted. I always had to call at least 2-3 times for each problems.
Not using my Vonage line anymore, I decided to cancel it. Well this was in March. My line is still active. Fortunately, my credit card expired and I never changed it in Vonage. I called at least 5 times, sometimes waiting at least 1 hour. They all ended up saying: there is a problem with ur account deletion I cannot do anything about it.
I never saw a stupid company like it. I'm making sure now to tell everybody not to join Vonage. There are alternatives.
I guess their employees don't know anything about IP telephony... |

I have been a customer for almost 4 years and my experience is the complete opposite. I have always had great customer service, and so have the three people I signed up. What is stupid is using ur instead of your. And frankly your post reeks of exaggeration. |

I've been with Vonage (though not exclusively) since March 2007 (over 4˝ years), and have been very happy with the technical operations. The only serious problem ever, actually arose around Monday of this week and lasted until early Friday. There were a lot of broken words and partly lost sentences in speech, especially outgoing. The problem is now fixed (I didn't even contact them), and I'd say that one serious glitch in over 4˝ years is very good.
As for the support personnel, I've interacted with them about 8 times or so, and it's a mixed bag of results. They're always friendly and trying to be helpful, but only some of them understand deeply technical matters. Non-technical matters are much easier for them, and are almost always handled very well.
One caveat: Voip is not for everyone. Some reasonable computer/IT capability sure helps (I'm an IT professional). If money savings is the only incentive to go with Voip, I'd advise against it. But if you like the savings, the features (there are many!), and the flexibility/portability, then it's a great choice. And don't use cheap Voip - go with top-notch Voip like Vonage.
So again, I'm a happy camper with Vonage. |

I've been with Vonage off and on for several years. I had to drop Vonage because my internet service was a BIG problem. According to Charter techs, the internet node was extremely overloaded and caused my service to be sketchy. I have since moved to a different area of town and my internet service is vastly improved and am back using Vonage again. Only had a problem 1 time with Vonage, they had an outage that lasted a few hours. Most of my problems were internet service related. |

Vonage is actually a good service but only for people with stable internet connection. This is what I believe. |
