Does Vonage allow customers to port their number to another provider when closing service with Vonage? |

Yes, Vonage will be more than compliant in porting your number out to another provider. the FCC requires all providers to do so. |

I've started the porting process and waiting for the number to port from Vonage. In reading I have done on other websites, I understand that I may need to call Vonage and have them remove my number from their DID database after the port has completed. I also know I will need to call and actually cancel my account.
When I joined Vonage back in 2004, I purchased my own retail PAP2, not one provided by Vonage. Since it was purchased on my own, will Vonage unlock it when I cancel my service if I request it? Seems to be a reasonable request since I own the PAP2, not Vonage, and since I will be removing it from their services. |

Yes, FCC mandates phone companies to allow phone number porting. |

It can be ported, yes. Customers are always protected by these laws. |
