Post subject: wrtp54g w/ sbg900
I've been losing my mind trying to figure this out but don't think it's possible with the linksys, but i'm trying to figure out a way to have the sbg be the only active firewall. Currently the only way to not have both running on the same connection is to do a static ip from sbg and disable it's firewall but i'd rather keep that one and not use the wrtp54gs firewall....any ideas?

Your best option in this case would be to setup a DMZ from the Linksys device to your computer. This would disable its firewall to that single IP address. If you need to connect multiple computers you would need a small managed switch or 4-port router w/ a firewall that can be disabled or none at all. You could then DMZ the switch/router and thus disable the Linksys firewall to multiple devices.
You are far better off using the Linksys firewall and disabling the SBG900 security/NAT. this will reduce the chance of audio problems with
Vonage
and simplify your network resulting in greatly increased efficiency. The linksys firewall is made by cisco and more than capable of handling basic security needs just as well if not better than the SBG900's
