My outgoing volume was reported low by people I called. I requested tech support to increase the outgoing volume on my RT31P2. The tech support person consulted with other techs on how/if he could do this. He was successful in increasing the outgoing volume as reported by people I called. The problem is that he also increased the incoming volume. My question is: Is it possible for tech support to vary the incoming/outgoing volume independently? I would like to lower the incoming volume back to what is was but leave the outgoing volume to what he changed it to. |

You may be able to find a more assistive and knowledgeable source of RT31P2 support direct from the manufacturer.

just decrease the volume on your phones. Almost every single phone I own can decrease the volume to the headset. |

Why didn't I think of that? I just assumed that the telephone set was the first thing he tried. |

besides them being able to tell you if the device can do this or not, it doesn't really matter what linksys says, Vonage is the only one who can control this. I couldn't find anything about it being controllable as far as what your hear/what they hear type of thing, just that the "gain" is apparently the setting that is actually changed. on my phone I have it down to the lowest volume possible and I still hold it away from my head most of the time. packet8 was even louder. |

Anyway, people I now call are happy because it was low when I called before they changed it. It would be nice if they can change outgoing/incoming independently. |

Access to the volumn I/O could very well reside in the Router's Web-based Utility 'Voice" function. An area that we do not have access to and can only be altered by tech support. |
