1, 2) The Vonage device is a router -- it has two Ethernet ports, labeled WAN and LAN. Connect WAN to the Ethernet output of your cable modem. Connect LAN to your computer, or to your switch if you have more than one computer. You may have to power-cycle the cable modem to enable it to talk with the Vonage device.
3) Any phone that works when plugged into a phone jack on the wall should work when plugged into the Phone jack on the Vonage device.
4) Call-forwarding can route incoming calls to another phone number; I'm not sure whether it supports forwarding to numbers in India. |

If internet is comming in behind your Vonage device,You can,,check to see if the firewall on your modem(depending on the model) is blocking.by logging into it and .temporarily/disable.it .also if the isp uses pppoe..(a username and password) or known as point to point you'll need to enter the user-name and pass into the device settings..under the pppoe dropdown ..and lastly if your device is a vdv21= V-Portal.... it can use the mac address of the PC connected to it ..on occation you may manually enter it if the device is not registering ..then make sure you have the device registyered on an active Vonage account ..If you're using Static addressing ..then I suggest contacting techsupport have the assist you w/setting up a static address in the device.Although I doubt this is the issue w/service not comming up I would make sure the device is/or has been activated on the account first...post back I'll be standing by. |
