I'm having a problem with unidirectional voice, otherwise my phone works perfectly.

I can place calls, I can receive calls (however, the other party _cannot_ hear me.)

My phone worked perfectly for 1 week. Now I have unidirectional voice.

It started all the sudden, I answered a call and said "Hello" and that was the last word anyone has heard from my Vonage line since. Apparently he heard the "Hello" part, and nothing else.

I know my phone works fine, it worked before Vonage, it worked with Vonage for 1 week. And it continues to work on my Dad's POTS line. Same goes for the 3 or 4 phone cords I've tried. They all work fine on the POTS line. So I think we can rule out my phone and cord.

The phone adapter must work too, since I can place calls. That means it *MUST* be receiving the DTMF from my phone without a problem. Plus it goes on and off hook just fine, I get a dial tone... I can even dial out. So its not my configuration, its not my router, its none of that. (Plus it all worked fine for 1 week and I didn't change anything.)

I did the power cycling. I did the switch to phone port 2. I did the factory reset. I did the connect directly to the modem. I did ALL of that. (Also since I was switching so much equipment out on my cable modem that caused comcast to lockout my modem. I had to call them and give them my mac address for my router so they would turn back on my internet. I'm not playing anymore "Its your router" crap.)

As the call connects, my audio stream is uni-directional. I hear crystal clear, they hear NOTHING. They don't hear my DTMF, my voice, nothing.

I can't even check my voicemail because the lady can't hear my DTMF tones so I can't enter my password.

I call Vonage customer service and the people that answer just keep saying "I can't hear you." Well no kidding, Sherlock. You think that might be my problem? Do you think you might look into it instead of just hanging up on me?

The tech support people just keep asking me the same questions. Its like talking to a wall.

Its obviously Vonage is unable to help me. Do I just need to port my number back to Sprint and pay $$$ for my phone to work properly again?

I guess you get what you pay for huh?

sounds llike the router your Vonage TA is connecting to the internet thru has DoS and or SPI active. What router do you have the Vonage TA connected to?

Sounds like a firewall issue to me. try plugging directly to the modem and see if it works fine.
