Hi there...
I'm considering signing up for Vonage in the next week or so and after reading this forum I realize I'm going to have to get a new cordless phone system for my apartment (since I can't touch the existing wiring). Are there any types of phones I should avoid? I've read that 2.4GHz phones can interfere with the wireless signals of some routers/adapters. Is this true or are 2.4GHz systems ok to use?
I currently have cable internet with a linksys wireless router (BEFW11S4) and 3 rooms that require phones. Also, would it be worth upgrading to the new linksys wireless-G router with the built in phone ports?
Thanks in advance for the advice. |

I just picked up a Uniden TRU 8885-2 and an extra phone. I absolutely love them. My 2.4Ghz would always have problems around my microwave and didn't really work very well. I also like that I only need to take up one phone jack. My house is wired with cat5e for phone or network. Before I had to sacrifice a network jack as a phone jack in rooms with only one drop. Now I only have to use one phone jack and can put internet access in every other room. Now if they'd just hurry up and finish my number transfer I'd actually be able to use my new phone more. |

Those all look like awesome phones, been drooling over those on the uniden website since yesterday lol. My main issue at the moment is cost. Any suggestions on where to find a good deal?
Thanks. |

the best deal I found was at staples. uniden also has refurbished phones on their website. best idea is just to check websites of the major retailers. also, most major retailers have ads (sales) every sunday which are in the newspaper and online. of course there's always ebay and http://www.google.com/froogle |

Costco is carrying the Uniden TRU 8885-3 (that's right : 3 handsets) for 159.99 + tax.
Ofcourse, u will need a costco membership for that... |

Got a Panasonic 5.8Ghz KX-TG5050 that has caller id and voicemail indicators for about $6 a week or two ago - like it a lot and it was a great deal for a phone that retails for $79.95 most places. |
