Well I implemented a change to the VT2442
Vonage
adapter/router which has improved the call quality while a file upload is in progress.
I added UDP ports 10000 thru 20000 to the source and destination ports category in the IP QOS section of the VT2442 with a priority of high.
I would have thought this was unnecessary on a built in adapter.
I would have thought it was unecessary as well.

Is that my real IP address ? If so I'm not comfortable giving that out

Further testing has clarified the problem.
If I'm on a call and I'm also
uploading
on the internet then if those 2 activities result in reaching the maximum
upload
bandwidth then the quality of the call is affected.
By adding the UDP ports 10000 thru 20000 to the IPQOS section of the
Vonage
VT2442 router seems to give the call more of a look-in on the
upload
bandwidth. Hence the call quality is improved (no cut outs just a slight warbling)
If the
upload
bandwidth hasn't been reached then there's no problem with the call.
There doesn't appear to be an option on the
Vonage
VT2442 router to allocate any percentage of the bandwidth to the call.
Any suggestions of improving this further would be appreciated.

"You should leave only those rules you want to apply to your current network traffic. By default, voice traffic will always be given priority."
Which software version do you have in you vt2442? Should be defined under home tab
