I've been a fairly content Vonage customer for years now (maybe 5 now?). The service has worked well other than the adapter boxes that self destruct every couple years.
That said, I finally renewed my yearly plan ($240 for a year) only to see my credit card charged $320. $80 more than I expected, and a third more than the plan itself.
While I appreciate the free international calling now at my disposal, I don't need it or use it so it's no value added. The fees are ruining the value for me. Obviously I need to give Vonage the year to prove to me it's still worth it, but they're failing right now.
Anyone else feel the same? |

The international calling is definately nice to have if you use it consistently or even once in a while. How about the voicemail transcriptions? I find it very useful and a great addition as a free option. |

I feel that we are being taken for a ride by the government, not sure it is Vonage's fault for passing on the fees. I have a Cincinnati Bell line as well, no long distance, but I do have their complete connectons package and unlisted phone number. I pay $40.91 per month PLUS $10.43 in fees (25%)
My Vonage is $24.95 PLUS 7.63 in fees (30%)
The percentage will be higher if the base price is lower.
These "taxes", call them fees if you wish, are just plain robbery! |
