My email to Vonage customer service only a few minutes ago...
I am trying to cancel my account with Vonage and I am extremely - EXTREMELY annoyed and disappointed with how it is (currently) being handled. First of all I've been waiting for over 25 minutes to speak with someone...finally some guy answers the phone and it sounds like he's in a cafeteria at a high school, he asks for my name and account number then says he has to find my account and can I wait a minute...5 minutes later he comes back and tells me that his whole system shut down and he had to restart it, then he asks for my shipping address and username, and why I'm cancelling the account (I want to use my cell phone for everything...fairly simple, don't you think?), he snidely laughs a little and then says he needs another minute or two to review my account in full to see if there are and issues that we need to discuss and has now put me on hold again.
Why have I just spent over 42 minutes cancelling an account with you? This is absurd, terribly unprofessional and disrespectful of my time (BTW it took 42:33 minutes to complete this call and 35 minutes of that was me waiting on hold for the “next available agent”). And, here I was thinking that in a few months I would return to you - NO WAY
Now I have to pay a disconnection fee of over $46.00 PLUS TAX (UNBELEIVEABLE) because it is less than 2 years - WHEN DID I SIGN A 2 YEAR CONTRACT?
The reference number that he finally gave me was: ___________.
I will let every single person I know to never use Vonage (which will be strange because since I got Vonage I've been a huge fan...that you just lost today). I feel like I’ve been duped, what a fool I was to think you were better than this and these tactics. |

I guess you never read the TOS before you signed up, nor did you read them when you received the Vonage adapter. I would be pissed off to about a long wait online, but that is they way most companies treat their customers. What is the reason why you want to cancel Vonage? |
