Hey guys-
I'm thinking about getting Vonage service, but I have a few questions.

First, I'm sure I have plenty of bandwidth, but I do a lot of downloading. Does the included router have bandwidth throttling, or am I going to have to cancel downloads every time the phone rings?

Second, I hear there is a 14 day trial. Does this trial include returning the hardware? Basically, if I cancel, I know I get reimbursed for the service costs, but can I return the router as well?

Third, can i choose to have my POTS number forwarded at a later time? I don't want to put in the order to tranfer it, only to decide I don't want to keep the service. I would like to try it out for a few days/weeks before moving my Qwest number over.

Any help is appreciated!

POTS or Plain Old Telephone System is basically your Landline number. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys.

I'm going to be doing the same thing. People here seem to think Vonage will charge you $9.95 to move your current number over, after they have already assigned you a new number. But if you sign-up and tell them, at sign-up, that you would like to keep your current phone number then they won't charge you.
From what I have found this is not true. I called Vonage 2 times, and on both times both CSR's told me I could sign-up with a random number, and then ask that my current phone number be switched over if I like Vonage, for free.

Actually, you can do it right from the web administration panel. It's on the right side. No calling tech support!

They charged me. Heart Breaker I didn't contact the customer service when I choose to keep my existing landline number (applied LNP). I changed via Dashboard.

I guess I will give a shout to the customer service and get the credit. Pray
