Hi there,
I've had Vonage for a few months now, and I have to say that I'm pleased! I do have a question though.. I have a PAP-2, and I just activated a second line on it. For some reason Vonage has sent me a RT31P2, so I would like to use it as a secondary adapter to access both lines in a room that has no phone jacks. I already have a router, Linksys BEFVP41 (It's a VPN Router, so it has to be first behind the cable modem). The PAP-2 plugs directly into the BEFVP41, and the RT31P2 will be "inline" between the computer and BEFVP41. Will I be able to activate this and access both lines from either adapter? And if this is possible, how would this affect extension phones? The PAP-2 is wired to all other phones in the house, so 2 people can pick up an extension and talk. Would this work between the 2 adapters? (I'm doubting this)
Thanks in advance!

My setup is like this:
Cable Modem >> LinkSys Router/TA >> Phone 1 (connected into house wiring) ...............................................................>> Fax Line ...............................................................>> PC1 ...............................................................>> PC2 ...............................................................>> PAP2 device
Not sure if this is what you meant (or if you can understand my wonderful diagram ) but, all three lines work great.
Hope this helps. |
