Actually, calls between US and Canada aren't "FREE" is you're on the 14.95 plan. They do count against your 500 allowed minutes for the month. However, even under the 14.95 plan, Vonage to Vonage calls are free, meaning they don't count against your minutes. I believe what the person is asking is do Vonage US to Vonage Canada calls "free" (meaning they don't count against your 500 minutes). I do not know the answer, but my expectation is "YES" since the calls don't touch the POTS lines at all. Can someone confirm for sure? |

The first question was... "Can Canadian Vonage customers call US Vonage customers for free?"
The answer is Yes! See below for explain!
In-Network Calls (Vonage to Vonage) are always included with your monthly calling plan. Call domestically. Call internationally. It doesn't matter. If the person you are calling is a Vonage customer you can talk as long as you like.
If you want to call to a tradiotional line in US and don't have one of the Vonage Unlimited plans, and you exceed your allotted minutes in a given month, then any call you make to the US will be charged the low rate of 4.9 cents per minute
Sincerly,

RiZed is correct. I am a US customer (Vonage.com) on the 500 minute plan. Every call I have made to my Canadian friends (Vonage.ca customers) has been listed as "In-Network" and free. From what I have been told by Vonage customer service, any Vonage subscriber may phone another Vonage subscriber for free no matter where in the world they may happen to be located (US, Canadian and now UK subscribers). |

Yes... he is right. Initially he responded that ALL calls to canada were free. I responded, saying that IN NETWORK calls may be free, but calls to non-Vanage weren't free, but counted against your 500 minutes. He then went back and modified his post to make it more clear (note the time edited post on his response is after my post). This makes my post look like I was trying to contradict him, which was not the case. |
