Post subject: Trying to hard wire a two lines adapter
Everything works fine up to the point where I connect the two lines phones.
The way my jacks used to work with the phone company, I connect a two lines adapter in the jack marked line 1&2. Then I connect the telephone to the adapter.
This set up apparently does not work with
Vonage
. I get only one line in line 1 of the adapter. Line 2 is dead. If I reverse them again, line 2 works but not 1.
Is there a way to have them both working?

You don't tell us which
Vonage
device you are using.
If it's a VDV21VD (the one with the LCD display on it) then the jack labeled Phone-1 is actually wired as RJ-14 and delivers both lines. Phone-2 is wired as RJ-11 and delivers only line 2.
If your phone expects two lines using one cord with one plug on the end of it, just plug it into the Phone-1 jack, no external adapter needed.

I managed to connect it. Both lines are working.
The only problem I still have is the alarm (Nextalarm). Is not dialing out. I guess I need their adapter for that.
