Post subject: VT2442-VD with Clear Wireless - connection Issues
I have a Motorolla VT2442-VD that worked very well when connected to Cox Communications Cable Modem.
I moved to a new house, Cox will not be installed for quite some time, so in the meantime, I have a Clear Wireless home modem. (Motorolla CPEi 25150)
It now seems that it cannot connect now. I have internet connection, but no phone through
Vonage
.
It seems from the info I have been reading that they might be trying to communicate on the same IP. I am trying to change to IP but cannot seem to log in to the
Vonage
router. Maybe this is NOT the right approach?
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
Thanks

If you have the Motorola unit from Clear it uses the 192.168.15.0 network address with a dhcp server address of 192.168.15.1 that hands out addressing the 192.168.15.0 (2-254) address space. Since the
Vonage
telephone adapter uses the same private class C network address 192.168.15.0 a conflict will occur.
Connect a computer to the yellow port of the
Vonage
box and access the config page by entering 192.168.15.1 in your address bar of a browser. The login credentials should be UID router and PW router. Change the LAN IP from 192.168.15.1 to 192.168.16.1.
