PostPosted: Sat Dec 12, 2009 1:33 pm    Post subject: international call length limit? 15 minutes? Reply with quote Back to top

I had Vonage for 1 week now. I mainly got it for the world plan.
The first call I could talk for ~32minutes, but every other call I made seems to cut at exactly 15 minutes.
Is there a length limit to international calls? Can the user override that?

Thanks,

I made my first international call from the USA to Russia today. It lasted 23 minutes with no problem.

We've experiencing the same issue randomly though. Calls get disconnected after 15 minutes or 30 minutes, mostly daytime.

Calls done late evening have no issues and have been over 1 hour.

Today an international call was disconnected. The other party dialed us back and was sent to my cell (the number transfer when there's no service).

Then, a call was placed and was disconnected in 2 minutes... It's very weird.

I'm not on a world plan however but the country we call is one on the list that would be free.

I used Vonage World to call to Europe everyday and I talked for hours without any disruption. You need to check your router. I setup my Vonage router for the highest voice quality (I forgot what it's called but it is under settings).

Oh I also called during the day, night, weekend without any problem. A lot of my friends also call to India daily without any problem and the calls went smooth.

It seems that, in this case, your Internet service was interrupted. That would, of course, drop a call in progress, and it would also cause incoming calls to be sent to your network availability number until the interruption ends.

Do you experience dropped domestic calls as often as international calls?

I know this thread hasn't been responded to in a while, but I'm having the same issues with calling to the Philippines. No matter what time of day it is, the call will drop at exactly one hour.

I contacted Vonage on the issue...they stated that shouldn't be happening and they would look into it. I get a response last night from them saying the problem was resolved and that "they were able to make a successful call." Only problem is that when they sent that e-mail, I was still experiencing the issue (on four separate calls yesterday). I e-mailed them back stating the problem was not resolved.

It could be because of two reasons, one of your router and other Vonage servers. First check your router connection if it's OK then there might be some issue with Vonage. Sometimes it happens due to the huge amount of calls at the sametimes, it doesn't happen often.
