For some reason, Vonage is making my upload speed very very low. It's at 60 kbs at the moment (or .06 mbs). Is there a way to raise this to about 125+?

You can go to your Vonage account page and try reducing your bandwidth. If that doesn't give satisfactory results, please give us the technical details listed in the sticky message at the top of the forum. If you remove the Vonage device, what is your speed, up and down? What is your speed down with the Vonage device in place?

How do I reduce my bandwidth on the Vonage page?
Anyways, if I remove my Vonage device my upload speed remains the same. I guess the problem is with time warner cable, what do you recommend I should do?

Here are my details
1. New York
2. Time Warner Cable
3. 2.72 mbs Down / 0.06 mbs Up
4. Cable modem model: DCM425
5. Vonage modem model: VDV21-VD
6. PC --> Cable modem --> Vonage router --> Linksys router

To change your bandwidth, you can go to the features page on your account. Look for bandwidth saver. Since you've pinned the problem down to your ISP, all you can do is call and complain. See what their standard is for upload speed on your account. Unfortunately, most ISPs offer "up to" a certain performance (!!). They're the only business that I've ever heard of that can get away with that.

I would call the ISP and have them run a test from their side. It may be a bad splitter, drop, etc. They probably will need to send someone out to your location. When you are working with the ISP, do not have the Vonage device in the network. Do a direct connect from the Internet modem to the PC. Good Luck

Yes i agree with Steve48 Nice solution.You can follow the solution i think may help to fix the Problem,Then check your Upload speed and Downloading speed at Scanmyspeed.com it show speed in Mbps ....

That is because Vonage will use upload to operate. If you are on the phone, it will surely use a lot of it.
