Hello,
My company is looking into setting up a phone system using Vonage. What I would like to know is if there is something we can do to setup some method of call forwarding between 2 (or more) offices (in the US and India) and dictate which lines will receive calls during certain times (e.g. US - 8am-6pm, India - 6pm - 8am) all stemming from a single 800 number.
I'm very new to Vonage so I don't know what is capable of, so I really appreciate any help or advice you can offer.
Many Thanks. |

At this time, Vonage does not offer Business type features such as this. Your looking for more of an auto attendant. You can perform call forwarding between different numbers but not at scheduled intervals. If it is configured, it will forward. So you would have to manually change your call forwarding during the times you need it. In addition, a Vonage toll free number can only be pointed to a Vonage number on the same account as the toll free number. It cannot forward to other lines not on your account. The call forwarding would be performed on the Vonage line your toll free number points to. |

One option that could work for you is to add a separate virtual attendant service on your 800 number "in front" of the Vonage lines. You can have that service select the proper line based on time of day/day of week. ureach.com offers their uAttendant service that plays prompts to the caller, or their uConnect service that just does a fine me/follow me dial out based on time of day or other parameters. Sending them to your different (US) Vonage numbers should work for you. |

You can install a DialMate CM1003 (see www.woodtel.com) on your Vonage line (preferably Vonage World) pointed to by the 800 number and connect a timer (cheap mechanical or electronic timer or more sophisticated x-10) on its power line which will activate it on the specific time of day or day of week. You program the CM1003 to transfer (not forward, so that the line does not get busy) the calls to the India number. |
