I would first call customer care, but I am guessing that your ATA (Vonage Device) has died or the phone port has gone bad.

These usually have two phone ports, one port may be bad and the other port may be good. You could also try changing the port using "move a number" under "add-ons" in your account management .

im gonna try that "move a number" thing. what exactly does that do and what am i actually doing when i do that. am i setting up a whole new account again cause it has me on the 911 info address page again. asking me to fill that out before i continue. i thought move a number had to only do with travelling. or is this a way to see if my vonage modem is still any good?

again thank you for your time.

This allows you to add or move a number to a port. In your case you are moving.

Please Choose the Number You Would Like to Move:

Select your phone number and press continue, it should guide you through moving your number to port 2 (if you are on port 1).

Then move the connection on your Vonage device from the port 1 jack to the port 2 jack.

Glad to have helped. One of my ports is bad also, (different symptoms), so one day I am sure the other one will go.
