I saw a long string of posts for the "Line 1 Wiring Error [Code 013] " on the vPortal. I had the same problem, and it baffled me. I tried $10 phones from Wallmart and it all worked, with high end phones like the Polycom 2-line Soundpoint Pro it gave me the error. I tried a new cable, short cable, long cable, etc. And before it was connected to a Cisco ATA 186 and it worked fine. I decided to install a DSL filter (those that you get when you receive your DSL modem), but the "phone" side I connected to the vPortal, and the "line" side to the SoundPoint phone. Now it works, the "Line 1 Wiring Error [Code 013] " error message is gone. I guess the filter will filter out noise and EMI signals, and also provide a bit of a resistive load on the line. Give it a shot if you are stuck with the "Line 1 Wiring Error [Code 013] " error. Cheers, Xandi
