I'm a new guy. I apologize for posting a question if it's already been posted. The search functionality leaves a bit to be desired.
I have a copper phone/DSL line that I'd like to port to Vonage. I'm worried that during the number porting process, my DSL will be disconnected too. Will AT&T disconnect my DSL if this happens?
Does anyone have knowledge and/or first hand experience on this? |

AT&T is not supposed to. That said, sometimes it does happen. Your best bet is to contact AT&T and have your DSL connection converted to dry loop first before you start the porting process. |

Just happend to my mil. I believe your service is under one "umbrella" which means if you cancel everything is gone. Like the previous poster said, though, you can request dsl -only (dry loop, naked dsl whatever you want to call it) and then you will keep the dsl. It won't be automatic however. |

Just did this for a customer...the DSL MUST be gone 1st before Vonage can port the number....If you want the DSL to stay, you will have to disconnect it and then put in a dry loop DSL....Otherwise, Vonage cannot port from an active DSL line...sorry.
Dr Touchtone (but they wouldnt let me put that in so I had to settle for the shorter Dr DTMF) |
