Post subject: quality of Vonage through Videotron: Please advise
Hello there community,
I need to supplement my cell phone communication with a landline. My student loan can't always handle Rogers cell phone bills.
Question #1
How is the call quality going through Videotron internet service?
...I am hesitant to sign up right away because even their own customer service agents lose signal with me when they are trying to give me a quote. This does not ensue confidence in their service.
...A friend who has suscribed with
Vonage
also has some minor static and echoing when he calls me.
Question #2
How many gigabytes of data gets used up in a one hour conversation?
...I have a limit of 60 gigabytes per month.
Thus far, I have only read bad reviews, but I know that the people who are satisfied and happy with the service don't post very much. Needless to say, I am looking to clarify this bias.
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

I am using a 7 Mbps download rate.
