I wanted to buy Vonage couple days ago but darn Etrade made me wait 3 days for fund xfer. I guess its too late now.

But why the surge ? Short covering or some big institution buying ?

400% gain on no news announcement from VG and no recent earnings release reeks of insider trading to me. If they are being acquired, expect to see some people going to jail for the activity this week.

Whatever the cause, there is rampant speculation going on. The average number of VG shares traded per day used to average well under 1M. On Friday, 81M shares changed hands.
