Vonage World & VM-To-Text to be Standard on $24.99 Plan

Multiple news sources are reporting, and confirmed with Vonage, that the $24.99 plan will include free calls to about 60 countries (landline only or those countries where the mobile phone has a subscriber pays model (e.g. US, Canada, China)).

Vonage has not announced it to subscribers yet. It seems the switch will NOT be automatic. You cannot do it on the web yet. I called and the rep said she wil call me back on Thursday. She also said I would not have to wait until the next billing cycle for it.

This is correct. As of this morning $24.99 will cover the same Unlimited calling it did before plus Unlimited calling to 60 countries.

Existing customers will need to call customer service to be switched over as no cost to the customer. In addition to the free calls to 60 countries you get Visual Voicemail.

Note: Calling mobile numbers is only included in 15 of the 60 countries. The other 45 countries only includes calls to Land Lines.

I was able to switch to the new plan online - it prorated the old and the new plans ($0 balance as they are the same price) and became effective immediately.

Cool. Let's hope they won't have capacity problems as the result of this.
