i just hooked up my linksys, and tried calling my current sprint home phone # from the Vonage Voip line as a test. (this is the line that i will eventually move over to Vonage, but has not been done yet)
However, Vonage just forwarded the call to my cell (which is set as my network unavail #). What i expected was for my home # to ring (because the line has not been transferred, is still active and Sprint still owns it) when i called it from the Vonage line, but it did not.
I was able to call my Vonage virtual # from my home sprint line, and it rang fine. I was able to call my verizon cell phone fine as well from Vonage. So from what i can tell right now, I can make calls, and receive calls, (great) but i just cant call my home # from the Vonage line? |

i am guessing you said keep your number when you signed up.
so, from Vonage line when you try to call YOUR NUMBER, it will be thinking it is that number. it will then for some reason call the network unavail number. i just did a quick test and called my own number from my Vonage line. and it rang my cell phone which i have for the network unavail number. |

From the Vonage FAQ:
During the number transfer process, calls made by non-Vonage customers to the number being transferred will ring on your non-Vonage phone. Your Vonage phone will receive calls in one of two ways:
1. Calls from anyone to your temporary virtual number. 2. Calls from other Vonage customers to the number being transferred.
After your number transfer has completed all calls will go directly to your Vonage phone. |
