I'd like to use the regular V-Portal in my home office and when I'm on the road use a softphone installed on my laptop that has THE SAME Vonage number. I don't want to buy the add-on softphone because I don't want another number and I don't really want to pay an extra monthly fee. I'd rather not have to take a seperate device like the V-Phone with me.
Can I use this Vonage Talk Alpha downloadable phone for this? (see http://alpha.vonage.com/vtalk)? If not, is there another option? Others have proposed somewhat complicated workarounds (see http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic10612.html). I'd rather keep it simple if I can, but I can get technical if I need to.
Thanks in advance for your input |

You can upgrade to Vonage Pro which comes with a softphone client (Companion) that ties to your existing number. Incoming calls will ring both and outgoing can be made from both (at the same time as well). |

That's perfect. Is it available in Canada or will be available soon? |

Currently it is offered only in the US but I can't imagine it not being offered in Canada as well in the near future. |
