Post subject: Routers | Best way to connect them
My current internet/
voip
setup is:
Internet > Comcast Cable> Cable Modem - Linksys/BEFCMU10>
Voip
Router - Linksys/RT31P2 > WiFi Router - Linksys/WRT310N
and off the WiFi Router - Linksys/WRT310N > wireless/ethernet > Computers.
My current
Voip
router - Linksys RT31P2 has a failed port issue, so
Vonage
has sent me a replacement - Linksys RTP300.
The instructions with the RTP300 suggest that my setup should be:
Internet > Comcast Cable > Cable Modem - LInksys/BEFCMU10> WiFI Router - Linkysys/WRT310N >
Voip
Router - Linksys/RTP300
and off the WiFi Router > wireless/ethernet > Computers.
Which is the correct way? or
Which is the better way?

No actually I had to re-read it a few times because I thought the same thing. But he only has the wifi router and the
vonage
adapter after the cable modem.
So to answer the op, I think the second option is what I would recommend.
Both ways will work and I guess it depends a little on your individual preferences. However, the need for
Vonage
to control the QOS in networks is diminishing and not really needed for it to be first.

Sorry if the way I laid out my 'farm' confused you both.
Thanks for the input on the configuration. I think I will go for the 2nd option also. Added advantage being a Windows Home Server connected via Ethernet to the WiFi Router - port forwarding and all that.
Thanks anyhow.
It would be good if there was a Wifi Phone Adapter (
Vonage
and WiFi rolled into one)!

for me I do not have anything plugged into the VT2442 so that routyer is plugged into my BEFSR41 which would be same as your choice 2
