Purchased the Whole House Solution today at Wal-Mart because of the $70 Express PayBack "rebate" on the box.
Actually, saw it came home and researched it and then went back and purchased. I knew enough to ask for the Express Pay Back card at checkout, but they had no idea what I was talking about, I asked them to call Vonage and they did and the recording said to activate online and then I would receive instructions to return to Wal-Mart and receive the rebate.
Came home and website provided wouldn't let me activate without the rebate card. Called the 800 number on the box and it said phone activation wasn't available, to activate on the web.
So I had to go to the regular vonage.com site to activate and have no way to get my rebate now.
Anyone else run into this and how did you resolve it?
I went through this 6 months ago. All I can tell you is, it took me dozens of emails and phone calls and threatening to cancel before I could get Vonage to issue a credit that covered the cost of the equipment that I could not get a rebate for. I'd never trust the WalMart "no hassle instant rebate" again. Good luck to you. I'm not sure you'll find the answers in old threads here either. I think I finally got satisfaction over the phone and through email, and I'm not sure how well it got documented here.
Buying in the store and expecting a rebate come with a huge PITA factor. Better to let them send the equipment and wait a couple of days.
