I rebooted my LinkSYS PAP2 adapter with 877778# and I can no longer get to its web pages. How do I restore it? I can no longer see how the PAP2 adapter is performing.
I bought this device from COMPUSA 1 week ago, and is activated with Vonage. I have not sent in the rebates yet. How does a product swap work in this case?
The reason I rebooted like that is to reset the adapter after it got a duplicate IP address from my MCI Speedstream DSL modem, and would not get one from my Netgear router, causing the whole network to hang.
please help |

My current setup is as follows:
Diagram #1
DSL modem 64.14.x.x | Netgear WGR614 Wireless + 4 wired ports (DHCP server) 192.168.0.1 | PAP2 192.168.0.2
Laptop connects to Netgear wirelessly 192.168.0.3
Internet works fine provisioned at 1.5Mbps/768Kbps I can ping the PAP2 but I get "page. unavailable" when I http://192.168.0.2 ==============
The 877778# is "USRRST" which set it back to default factory settings. I used it to clear the gateway and IP addresses it got when I used a HUB as you see below. I preferred not to make holes in the Netgear firewall for Vonage to work (ports 10000-20000, etc...)
Diagram #2
DSL modem | HUB-------- | | Netgear PAP2
The problem in this setup is that the both the PAP2 and the Netgear grabbed the same IP address from the DSL modem. and caused both devices to freeze. The PAP2 had a red power light at the time. When I rearranged the network as in diagram #1, the PAP2 would not give up the duplicate IP address, and I had to reset it with 877778#. I had tried the 73738# (RESET) but that had asked for a password.
I just spoke with Vonage support, and they said this web only works if the PAP2 and a PC are connected back-to-back! This cannot make sense. |

I purchased and set up the pap 2 last night here is my set up
linksys cable modem->linksys wrt54gs--> pap2 + other pcs wired, and wireless
In all the paper work that came with my pap2 the number you listed for reset was not anywhere in my paper work. I would do the 4 * in order to get teh voice menu and make sure all the settings are correct. I only used the voice phone based set up and everything is working fine. |

reebok,
If the post you mentioned is correct, then no Vonage customer has access to the web pages on their PAP2. In my case, the PAP2 made its first successful connection when I removed the hub, then it updated the FIRMWARE right away. This also explains the warning in the Vonage booklet about rendering the PAP2 dead if unplugged upon first connection to the Internet.
So, does anyone with PAP2 device have access to the web pages on it? If not, how do we get it back? |

reebok,
By the way, the PAP2 seems to use the same IVR commands as the SIPURA device. Here's the SIPURA user guide. There is an IVR option to enable/disable web server: 7932# it Should prompt for 1 or 0 .
I'm not at my PAP2 device right now. Would someone be kind enough to verify it?

Yes, but then you are required to enter the password to enable it. It is locked down. Once provisioned the web interface for the PAP2 is disabled for the EU. |
