I just had to disconnect everything in my office and move the equipment around to other parts of the room. Of course, everything worked fine before I moved it, and now I seem to be doing something wrong. And no, I foolishly didn't notate how the cables were plugged in before moving everything.
So I have an Airport Extreme 802.11n, Comcast Cable (SF Bay Area), and Vonage Voip. Vonage gave me one of their own phone adapters.
I can get EITHER my phone to work OR my Internet, but not both. Both my Airport wireless router and the Vonage phone adapter are only working when plugged directly into the cable modem.
Vonage's instructions had me connect the phone adapter to the cable modem, and then the Airport wireless router into the Vonage phone adapter. In this scenario, the phone works fine, but Airport can't pick up any signal.
So I tried the opposite...the Airport's WAN port is currently plugged into the cable modem. I then have a network cable going to my desktop from one of the 3 connection ports. In the second of the 3 connection ports I have another network cable going to the blue socket on the back of the Vonage adapter. When powering up, the Vonage phone adapter never gets past Retrieving Profile, and ends up with error code 001. The airport works, but I can't seem to get phone working.
Can anyone offer any advice?

Sounds like a basic networking issue. Just connect the Vonage adapter to your cable modem to get the phone working. Then connect the LAN port on the Vonage adapter to the WAN port on the Airport.
Now connect a cpmputer to a LAN port on the Airport. First check your IP address on your computer. The IP of your computer should be on the same network as the Airport. If the Airport settings are defaulted, your computer should have an IP on the 10.0.1.0/24 subnet. If this is the case, you should now be able to access your Airport using the Airport Utility
Once your into the Airport, make sure the WAN interface is set for DHCP. Check the WAN status and make sure that it is getting an IP from the Vonage adapter. This IP should be 192.168.15.2 or .3
Other then then checking these basic things, there is not much else we can guide you through. |

I have the same setup and it works fine. I do have the airport extreme in bridged mode and let the VT2442 act as the router and the airport extreme as an access point. |

This is the only method I would suggest with an Apple router. They do not feature QoS in their firmware which will not allow you to give the ATA priority. Plugging the ATA directly in to teh cable modem will allow this to occur. |
