i have linksys wrt54g wireless router and fios internet and att callvantage. callvantage is bieng discontinued and i would like to try Vonage. the only problem i have is that about once a week i loose my internet connection and phone. i have to reboot my router to get it working again. i'm wondering if the problem is with my router or phone adapter. i don't want to have this problem if i switch to Vonage or ii'll go back to a pots line.
any ideas or suggestions? thanks

You state that you are losing both Internet and phone (VoIP phone, from AT&T). This is probably either a FIOS issue or a problem with your router. I would expect that it would affect Vonage in the same way that it affects your present Voip service and your computer's Internet access.

Regardless of whether you go to Vonage or another Voip carrier, or a POTS line, you shouldn't have to put up with weekly Internet service outages. If rebooting your router restores service, then it's probably your router that is failing. Either get help from the tech support folks at the router's manufacturer, or replace the router. Remember that if you go with Vonage, you'll get a new router as part of the Vonage device.

I was on the Vonage website and it does not say that a router is included in their pakage. If it is then I can deal with that when I get the new router. In the meantime I'll see if I can get help on the linksys website or forum to fix it now and mabey when I get Vonage it will work with that as well. At least I know it's a router issue and not a Voip issue.
