I have been using Vonage for awhile and have been using the hard wiring in my house to use all phone jacks. It was simple to unplug the line at the interface box. I am changing my inernet service to DSL, so I can no longer use my current setup. Can I move Vonage to line 2 by using line one/line two breakout adapters to plug in the Vonage adapter and my phones by using the line 2 connection in the breakout adapters? I know I will have to disconnect line 2 at the NIB.

You certainly can move the Vonage voice circuit to the second line of your house wiring, and put DSL on the first line. But you'll then need to use an adapter for every telephone set.

I recommend that you put DSL on the second line and use one adapter where you plug in your DSL modem. Then all of your telephone sets can be plugged in to line 1 as they are. You only need one adapter.

How do I get DSL on line 2? Is this something the phone company would do? Or can I do it myself.

They'll probably do it for you if you ask the installer when it's put in. If not, you can probably do it yourself. At the telco network interface device, you'll find a pair of wires from your house connected to a pair of terminals. Disconnect them, and connect the other pair from your house to the same terminals.

If your house is old, the first pair will be red and green; the second pair will be black and yellow. If your house is newer, the first pair will be blue/white and the second pair will be orange/white.
