Post subject: Total Newbie - Wireless help required
Hello to you all!
I will try to provide as much information as I can, if more is needed please let me know.
This is what I currently have:
1.) Comcast Cable : hooked into Motorola SB5120 SURFboard Cable modem
2.) Motorola SB5120 SURFboard Cable modem is outputting through Ethernet port to: Linksys RTP300
VoIP
Broadband Router provided by
Vonage
.
3.) One iMac and one MacBook are connected to this RTP300 router via Ethernet cable.
4.) Also, one telephone is connected to RTP300.
5.) I have PS3 that is not connected to anything (besides TV)
Use: Heavy internet use (surfing, downloading/uploading - Video, audio, software files, bittorrents etc)
Need:
All I need is wireless capabilities so I can use my Macbook anywhere in the house without having to plug in the ethernet cable while having my iMac plugged in directly using the Ethernet cable.
(It would be sweet if I can also connect the PS3 to the internet wirelessly!!)
Request:
I will greatly appreciate if someone can tell me what I require that will handle all my needs (keeping in mind the heavy internet usage) and how I would set it up.
Thanks
Slyster

You can connect a simple wireless access point into one of the ports on the
vonage
box and you'll have wireless access in your residence. You can get a refurb router for $29.99
