Post subject: Trying to hook up 2 V-Portals, not working
Alright, so i'm paying for two lines right now and only one is working. What i'm trying to do is hook up a vportal to my switch in my basement so i can connect it to separate phone line throughout the house. Then, I have a router in another room that has a vportal connected to it connected to the main phone line in the house. That's the only room that has an ethernet wall jack. It seems that only one vportal will work at a time while the other one is getting a connection error. If the one in the basement connected to my switch is working, I get no internet on any computer and the other vportal does not work. If the Vportal in the family room is working, I get internet, but the other vportal won't work. However, If they are both connected to the router at the same time, they both work and I get internet. Except I have to have one in the basement because that's the only way it can get an internet connection and connect to a different phone line. Any suggestions on why they are conflicting with each other? Here's a simplified picture I drew too so you can get a better idea.
*Edit
The reason I have the switch before the router is so I get a better wireless signal throughout the house.
