I have my internet set up through a modem, WRT54GS Linksys router, and the VT2142-VD Motorola.
I opened up port 3389 on the Linksys, but am uncertain how to do it on the Vonage device.
I went to Port Forwarding in the Motorola router page (192.168.15.1), and added an RDP rule of:
Protocol Port Start Port End Port Map TCP 3389 3389 3389
I am going to go test it now, but does anybody have any experience with this? |

I think you want to be able to access RDP on your PC from outside of your network. You don't mention where your PC is connected to the two routers.
If the PC is connected to the first router, (i.e. there is only one router between your PC and your modem) then to allow incoming connections to your PC using port 3389, you will need to assign a static IP address to your PC and then tell the router to which the PC is connected to forward incoming connections on port 3389 to that static IP.
If the PC is behind two routers, then you'll also want to assign a static IP address to the WAN port of the second router, and set the first router to forward port 3389 to the IP address of the second router. Then set the second router as described in my first paragraph. |
