I hooked up Vonage last night. Took me all of 5 minutes to get my dial tone -
I placed my first call - no issue other than the person saying I sound "softer" This could be my phone cause I heard her very good and clear. Any thoughts?
I rec'd my first call - again - NO issues.
The only issue (hopefully someone can help) is that I called and wanted voicemail to pick up (set to 25 seconds). I let it ring and ring and ring and voice mail NEVER came on for me to leave a message. Any idea?
Overall my early review gives it 9 out of 10. |

If that continues to be an issue, call tech support and have them turn up the outbound volume in your TA. Both inbound and outbound volumes are adjustable, but it can only be done by a tech.

ahh if only I could edit....theone question I had and the answer I was waiting has now been answered. I wondered if I'd have to basically put the adapter before the router and set it up like that somehow...fortunately I didn't have to do that...but just set it up replacing my old wireless router...ooh wait....is this a wireless router? err...maybe I still do need the older router...uh oh..any help? |

Got my Linksys (Vonage) router yesterday AM. Took about 5 minutes to get it up and running with a dial tone.
I did not tell the family about the install, and let them continue to use the phone all day. I set the calls from my normal Qwest line to forward to my Vonage number, so all incoming calls to my "old" number rang on the Vonage line. Nobody knew of the change until I told them! None of the people we called had any comment as to the quality of the call.
Later I took the system down to install my Linksys wireless router AFTER the Vonage router (not wireless) and the automatic call forwarding worked as advertised. As soon as I unplugged the Vonage router, calls were being forwarded to my Cell number as I had set it up to do! As soon as I got the Vonage router back on line, things were back to normal!
Hooking the second router up was simple, though I did scare myself at one point and thought I had lost the ability to log on to my wireless router for good! A quick phone call to a friend who networks computers for a living and that problem was solved in about 5 minutes.
To sum it up, everything is working as expected so far... even better! If this continues I will be switching my old number to Vonage and Qwest can take a hike! |
