Anyone know how easily they could block my actual Vonage phone calls?

They could block your calls as easy as they could block access to a certain website. IPs are IPs any way you look at them. You might want to try a tracert (or traceroute if using Linux/Unix) to see how far your request makes it. Example windows command:

tracert www.vonage-forum.com
tracert www.vonage-promotion.com
tracert www.vonage.com

You can post the results here if you like, however, it is my recommendation to change/remove the IPs of the first hop or two before doing so. That way we might be able to help you out a little more.

With the internet worms & what not, it wouldn't surprise me if ICMP responses to traceroute queries fail as well.

The easiest way to tell if you are being blocked by an ISP or the specific web server / proxy server is:

1.) open up a command prompt (start/run, then type cmd.exe)
2.) at the prompt, type in "telnet www.vonage-forum.com 80"
if it connects, and gives you a new line wit a blinking cursor, type "get /" then press enter two times. you should get an html response.

I did trace the route (I'm using OSX)

traceroute to www.vonage.com (200.65.127.163), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
1 [removed to protect the inocent] 3.378 ms 1.493 ms 4.043 ms
2 inet-dgo-zarco-2-l0.uninet.net.mx (148.235.14.221) 32.621 ms 64.531 ms 24.807 ms
3 inet-dgo-zarco-g5-0-0.uninet.net.mx (148.233.19.58) 24.6 ms 24.925 ms 24.3 ms
4 inet-nvl-revolucion-5-pos4-0.uninet-ide.com.mx (201.134.33.218) 80.659 ms 76.918 ms 77.669 ms
5 bb-nvl-revolucion-1-g8-0.uninet.net.mx (200.38.199.33) 59.175 ms 62.352 ms 61.826 ms
6 bb-nvl-revolucion-9-pos7-0.uninet.net.mx (200.38.209.58) 72.351 ms 122.164 ms 76.728 ms
7 inet-mex-vallejo-8-g5-0-0-1.uninet.net.mx (200.38.197.45) 74.731 ms 76.004 ms 73.453 ms
8 dup-200-65-127-163.prodigy.net.mx (200.65.127.163) 72.952 ms 74.605 ms 73.289 ms

I'm not a big Terminal guy. Why's it only give me 8 (hops?) and say there are 30 hops? Apparently never left Mexico. [Now that my ignorance is out there in plain sight]

I tried www.vonage.com in my browser and it went thru for the first time in weeks [I probably only tried three or four times in the last couple of months]. I guess maybe the teacher was looking over my shoulder.
