My Vonage service was great for 7 days and hasnt worked since. I was on the phone with Von. tech rep, and AT&T tech rep for 4-5 hours and got nowhere. I have a dry loop thru AT&T. I have a Dell computer, 2wire modem model 2700HG-B, Belking wireless router not sure of model #, and a V-Portal device. My computer autoconfigures an IP address starting with 169 instead of 192. It says I have no DHCP all of a sudden. And I have no clue what all this means, can someone please help me. I work from home using phone and internet. I am new to all this technology and need help. |

First, start by removing Vonage from the picture. Pretend you don't have the Vonage V-Portal device or Vonage service. Now remove the Belkin from the picture as well. Connect the computer directly to the 2Wire modem. If your still getting an autoconfiguration address, you need to treat this as a normal ISP issue and AT&T will either need to walk you through getting your service up or send someone out to your location if they are sure that your Account and service are in the proper status.
If you can't get internet to your PC directly to the modem or through the Belkin router, this is not something Vonage or anyone in this forum can really assist you with as the issue is between AT&T and your modem. |
