Hi All,
It's been almost 2 weeks since I got my Vonage connection, so far everything worked great.
When I first took the connection, I decided against applying for LNP as I was not sure about Vonage service and quality. As now I am satisfied with Vonage, now I want to transfer my landline phone connection to Vonage.
Can I do that now, when the service is already active?
BTW, I checked at Vonage webite, it says I can keep my old phone number.
TIA |

Absoluetely. Log in to your control panel, choose Billing, click the "Change Your Phone Number" link, then select the "keep my existing number" option and follow the prompts.

Thanks for quick reply.
As I already have phone number with Vonage, will they assign new temporary number during the transfer of phone number (from landline) ?
Will they charge me $9.99 for this change? (as I already got a number from Vonage and transferring back to my old landline number) ( I read somewhere that if you change the number via control panel, then Vonage charges $9.99 for that) |

No, you will keep the same Vonage number you have now. The number being LNP'd will become the primary number on the account, and your current number will be considered 'virtual'.

Yes. It doesn't matter if you are changing one Vonage number to another, adding a virtual number, or doing an LNP. Anytime you activate a new number, it's $9.99.

Adding on to Rebus' thought: This is why it is always best to sign up for the LNP at the time you activate. You can always hold off on faxing the form until you are satisfied with the service. If you choose to cancel Vonage and haven't faxed in the form, they simply cancel the LNP. By doing it at the time of activation you are NOT charged for LNP. However, if you wait, you will be assessed the $9.99. |

Damn... I should have posted this question first before I acticated the service.
Yep, they charged me $9.99 ( $10.29 to be exact with taxes), cool thing is I already referred two friends and one already signed on for the Vonage. So Vonage deducted the amount the credit (referral). |

sbmlat,
well u should have actually called customer care first instead of going directly to ur web account and tried the "change number option". oftentimes, customer service actually waives the 9.99 for u if u transfer ur number at a later date.
